AP Moller & SMOU MOU Signing

On 9 March 2021, AP Moller (Singapore) Pte Ltd and SMOU came together to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to signify a partnership in support of the Singapore maritime core.

The MOU was signed between AP Moller Managing Director Mr Rene Piil Pedersen, and SMOU General Secretary Ms Mary Liew at the SMOU office. With this, AP Moller has committed to provide training and job placements on board ships for Singaporean seafaring cadets. This initiative will help to boost the Singapore core in the seafaring sector, and SMOU will continue to look out for partnership opportunities to support our national maritime interests, and workers in the maritime industry.

“We are excited to be in this partnership with SMOU to support and boost our Singapore maritime core. We believe that the Singaporean seafarers that join the industry will be a value-add to the international maritime community, and we hope that more locals will consider a career in the maritime industry.” – Rene Piil Pedersen, AP Moller Managing Director

“Training and skilling is the way forward in today’s employment landscape, and we are very excited to have AP Moller to support our Singaporean seafarers. With training placements on board ships, Singaporeans can find progressive seafaring jobs with good wages in the maritime industry.” – Mary Liew, SMOU General Secretary
