Led by NTUC’s Employment and Employability Institute (e2i), the entourage from the British High Commission visited WMI to learn about their state-of-the-art ship bridge simulator. There, WMI hosts Capt. Menon and Senior Manager Wilfred Thiang introduced Her Excellency to the immersive experience of simulation technology that helps to train and prepare seafarers for their work at sea.

The visitors went through simulations of scenarios during a sea voyage. They experienced heavy storms, night simulation, and even aiding a nearby sinking ship during the tour. Capt. Menon shared how the digitalisation of maps and nautical processes in the bridge simulator has assisted deck officers in their work.
