On March 21, 2024, the Orchid Country Club played host to the highly anticipated SMOU Golf Tournament, drawing a crowd of 103 enthusiastic attendees. The event promised a day filled with camaraderie, friendly competition, and exciting prizes.
The day kicked off with a sumptuous lunch, providing golfers with the perfect opportunity to network and socialise before hitting the green. At 1pm sharp, the shotgun signaled the start of the tournament, with participants vying for victory in a system 36–stableford format.
As the rounds progressed, golfers showcased their skills, aiming for coveted Hole in One prizes and novelty prizes such as nearest to the pin, nearest to the line, and longest drive. The competition was fierce, but the atmosphere remained light-hearted and jovial throughout.
To add to the festivities, a photo booth and ice cream booth were set up, providing moments of fun and relaxation between rounds. After an exhilarating day on the course, golfers reconvened in the ballroom for a delightful dinner and prize-giving ceremony.
Amidst the delicious cuisine and jubilant atmosphere, attendees enjoyed further opportunities for networking and even had the chance to win more during the Lucky Draw segment. The evening was further enhanced by the lively tunes of a 2-piece live band, providing the perfect soundtrack to end the day on a high note.
Overall, the SMOU C.U.R.E Golf event was a resounding success, bringing together members of the maritime community for a day brimming with sportsmanship and the opportunity to forge new connections within the industry.
