Good news to all our Burmese seafaring officers who are serving onboard vessels covered by SMOU Collective Bargaining Agreements, and whose employers are contributing to SMOU’s Seafarers’ Medical Scheme (SMS).
In line with the union’s effort to champion Myanmar seafarers’ interest, SMOU will be offering SMS in Myanmar through the collaboration with Asia Pacific Dental & Medical Centre in Yangon. Similar in nature to the existing SMS offered to our Filipino seafaring officers in the Philippines, the specially designed healthcare scheme will provide general medical protection to our Myanmar seafaring officers and their dependents.
The new SMS Clinic in Yangon is strategically located in Asia Pacific Medical & Dental Centre.
