Some 30 maritime industry professionals participated in Wavelink Maritime Institute’s (WMI) inaugural online training in Maritime Incident Investigations on 17 September. This session is one of the series of programmes subsidised by the Singapore Maritime Training Fund as part of the initiative to upskill the maritime professionals who are working with the partners of the SMOU.
The live-session conducted on the WMI Virtual Classroom platform was facilitated by Mr KHK Rangan, a veteran in the area of Maritime Incident Investigations. The session covered aspects relating to the maritime incident management from developing an incident tracking system to post-incident investigation recommendation. Participants also benefited from Mr KHK Rangan’s experience in this area where he was able to address their concerns on the subject during the Q&A session.
The unprecedented COVID-19 crisis has increased the need for maritime industry professionals to reskill and upskill themselves with skills to contribute to their businesses more impactfully.
