As the year comes to an end, close to 400 SMOU members and family members came together for the Family Connection—Year End Celebration on the Sunday of 4 December 2022. Decked in Christmas decorations, the Swissôtel @ The Stamford got everyone in the magical Christmas mood for the evening!
Families tucked in to the sumptuous buffet spread consisting of festive treats like roasted turkey and tasty dessert treats like log cake. As they savoured the delicious feast, many were seen nodding their heads as they savoured the delectable spread, while others were singing along to Christmas carols with the live band.
A special appearance of the Gingerbread Man had everyone excitedly whipping out their phones to take pictures! Both young and old were eagerly waiting to have their photos taken with the Gingerbread Man, with some running up to give it a hug. It was such a wonderful way to end the year, and it definitely left everyone smiling by the end of the night.

“My wife and I had a lot of fun dining and having the live band sing Christmas songs! It really helped put us in the festive mood. The Gingerbread Man was so cute as well! During the pandemic, SMOU organised home deliveries for us, and even though it was cosy, we prefer these physical events more as it gives me an opportunity to meet with others from the same industry.”
