CERT First Aider Course Equips Participants with Essential Life-Saving Skills

On 13 July 2024, SMOU organised a First Aid and CPR AED course at the Singapore First Aid Training Centre, and saw close to 10 members.

This intensive program aimed not just to educate but to empower, equipping attendees with indispensable skills to handle critical emergencies effectively.

The course was led by Mohammad Hadzirun, a Certified Standard First Aid Instructor from the Singapore First Aid Training Centre. With an extensive five-year background as a paramedic at the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), Hadzirun’s expertise illuminated every facet of the training, blending theoretical knowledge with practical application seamlessly.

Participants in the course explored vital topics such as CPR, AED application, first aid principles, and managing injuries like soft tissue wounds, fractures, and burns.

Each session not only deepened their knowledge but also bolstered their confidence in handling emergency. SMOU’s dedication to teaching life-saving skills enhances individual abilities and strengthens community safety. As certified first aiders, participants are now equipped to make a significant difference, demonstrating their proficiency in life-saving techniques and ensuring safety in diverse challenging situations.
