All NTUC members will enjoy a fee waiver on membership and administrative charges for the Consumers Association of Singapore’s (CASE) dispute resolution services. These include the handling and negotiation of contractual disputes on their behalf.

Through the partnership between NTUC and CASE, NTUC will absorb the cost of annual membership fees for CASE on behalf of all NTUC members.

NTUC made the announcement after signing an agreement with CASE on July 1, 2022. NTUC currently has over 1 million members.

Since its inception in 1971, CASE has been active in protecting consumers’ interests and advocating for consumer rights, said CASE Executive Director Lee Siow Hwee.

CASE provides free advice for consumers who encounter disputes with businesses, and it assists consumers in negotiations or mediation with merchants to resolve contractual disputes and arrive at an amicable settlement.

Ms Lee added that the partnership with NTUC will make dispute resolution services more accessible to a larger pool of Singaporeans.

NTUC Membership Services Division Director Steve Tan said, “This partnership comes at a timely juncture as consumer disputes with businesses remain a concern. Standing up for consumers’ rights and responsibilities has always been a shared aim for both organisations, and NTUC is proud to partner with CASE to support our members in their disputes with businesses.”

NTUC members who wish to enjoy the fee waiver for filing disputes will need to produce their NTUC Card in physical or digital form.

Members can visit CASE at 170 Ghim Moh Road, Ulu Pandan Community Building Level 5, from 10am to 4pm on weekdays. A meeting with a Consumer Relations Officer is by appointment only.
