SMOU Annual Bowling Challenge “strikes” again with its 17th run on 24 August 2024, when more than 130 SMOU members and their families and tripartite guests gathered for the highly anticipated bowling event at the Orchid Bowl @ Orchid Country Club.
The SMOU Annual Bowling Challenge serves as a platform for networking, rapport building, and showcasing bowling skills. The tournament offered prizes for both team and individual events.
There to roll out the bowling tournament was Guest-of-Honour Mr Cheah Aun Aun, Director (Shipping)/Director of Marine, Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA). The games began with each team, comprising four players, pitting themselves against each other to bowl their best game ever.
As the game was still ongoing, a pre-draw team lucky draw was conducted, where the 6th to 33rd winners were presented by Mr Gwee Guo Duan, SMOU Assistant General Secretary. The top 5 team lucky draw prizes were presented by Young SMOU Chairman Mr Dominic Yong.
The organizers computed the scores after the bowling teams had played three games. The players eagerly awaited the announcement of the champions. Individual tournament prizes were presented by Mr Gwee whilst Mr Cheah Aun Aun handed out prizes to the winners of the team tournament.
Every player felt like a winner with treats such as a Subway meal, a goodie bag, and lucky draw gifts. Everyone had a rolling great time bowling, bonding, and building friendships.
To all the avid bowlers that love to be on the SMOU bowling lanes, let’s bowl again next year.
