On 2 August 2025, SMOU members and their families gathered at the Swissôtel. The Stamford to celebrate Singapore’s 60th birthday, and what a celebration it was. More than 400 guests turned up, filling the evening with warmth, laughter, and the unmistakable spirit of togetherness.
From the moment guests arrived, there was a buzz of excitement. Everyone received a customised National Day shoulder–strap phone holder, and each family had a go at the gachapon machine, walking away with small surprises and big smiles. Singapore flags were handed out too, setting the tone for a night of national pride.
Dinner was spread across two vibrant venues, Asian Market Café and The Clove, where families enjoyed sumptuous buffets brimming with local favourites and fresh seafood. Throughout the night, balloon artists and magicians roamed through the crowd, keeping children wide-eyed and thoroughly entertained.
Adding to the atmosphere was the Singapore Swing band, whose upbeat tunes moved seamlessly from room to room, bringing music and joy to every table. Between bites and banter, families caught up with old friends and made new ones, all in the comfort of a community that feels like home.
What made the night memorable was not just the food or entertainment but the simple joy of being together. Celebrating Singapore’s 60 years felt even more meaningful surrounded by fellow members and loved ones.
As the evening came to a close, it was clear that SMOU Family Connection 2025 was more than just an event. It was a shared moment, a heartfelt celebration, and a reminder of what it means to be part of the SMOU family.
