SMOU Gifting Care Bags to You

As Singapore progresses in its efforts to vaccinate international seafarers at our ports, SMOU took the occasion to thank seafarers for their hard work on World Maritime Day 2021. On 30 September, SMOU collaborated with MTSS to show appreciation and support to seafarers that visited the Singapore port by distributing 300 care packs that contained essential items such as the Antigen Rapid Test (ART) self-test kits, hand sanitisers, and masks at the Marina South Pier and Singapore anchorage.

In the month of October, to go the extra mile for seafarers, SMOU conducted two more distributions to seafarers whose ships called at the port of Singapore. The care packs were to recognise the efforts, hard work and sacrifices that the seafarers have given during this time. It was paramount to ensure the needs of the seafarers were cared for, having been the backbone of the global supply chain since the start of the pandemic.

“This is a kind gesture to the crew who’re working on board, especially during this difficult time. I believe through the expression of Caring and Sharing from SMOU, it has made this challenging period more bearable.”

– Mr Toh Soon Kok, Singapore Port Chaplain
