A total of 209 SMOU members were welcomed into the union’s “hall of fame” at the Long Membership Awards (LMA), held on 6 November 2025 at the Paradox Hotel. The celebration paid tribute to members who achieved significant milestones in their journey of loyalty and commitment.
SMOU General Secretary Sister Mary Liew warmly thanked members for their steadfast support through the decades. She looked back on the union’s early days, and with a smile, she added, “SMOU has come a long way—and we are where we are today because of you.”
Special appreciation was also extended to and Brother Yong Soon Huat, SMOU Treasurer, for their dedicated contributions.
As members and guests enjoyed a hearty buffet dinner, a live band led by Cheryl Fong filled the hall with lively music, setting a warm, celebratory atmosphere that brought the SMOU family together.
The banquet hall echoed with cheers and applause as those who reached 10 to 45 years of membership took the stage, each representing a unique story of dedication.
The evening culminated in a massive group photo capturing the pride and joy shared by all. With more music and merriment from Cheryl & Band, the celebration ended on a high.
Congratulations to all our Long Membership Award recipients—thank you for being part of our journey for so many years.
