SMOU Members Throw Their Best Strikes at the Annual Bowling Challenge

On the afternoon of 20th August 2022, SMOU organised their Annual Bowling Challenge event at Orchid Country Club. After being unable to host the event for the past two years due to the pandemic, the Annual Bowling Challenge was finally resumed. Many bowlers streamed in early with their bowling bags despite the downpour to warm up and catch up with other members who they have not seen in a long time.

Guest-of-Honour, Assistant Chief Executive of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) Mr Kenneth Lim, opened the event and welcomed SMOU members, their families and CBA company representatives to the event. He expressed his delight on being able to attend an in-person event again post-pandemic.

He elaborated on how the SMOU Bowling Challenge is a great platform to form meaningful connections and promote bonding not just within their groups, but as one big tripartite family. “Today’s gathering is a good opportunity to reinforce tripartite ties in a fun and casual environment and best of luck for the bowling challenge,” he wished all the participants.

The event saw great dynamism and exhilaration amongst competitors and the energy in the alley was at an all-time high as members both young and old were seen cheering for each other.

Participants were at the edge of their seats waiting for their number to be announced. Mr Kenneth Lim presented the Lucky Draw prizes to the winners.

“We haven’t had this event for two years, and I haven’t seen some of my friends for that long as well. It’s definitely a great opportunity to meet and catch up through the event.”

“This is actually our first time attending this event. It’s really nice of SMOU to plan such events so that we may be able to hang out as a family and grow closer. We look forward to the next one!”
