In the midst of the turmoil brought by the COVID-19 pandemic in the maritime industry, SMOU prepared care packages as a gesture to offer support to seafarers who are at the forefront onboard ships and on-shore.

Personalised SMOU Care Packages—containing essential items such as hand sanitisers, wet wipes, etc.—were given to seafarers on board vessels with Collective Bargaining Agreements at Jurong Port and Pasir Panjang Terminal. SMOU officials and volunteers from the Mission to Seafarers Singapore took this opportunity to catch up with seafaring officers about their well-being and concerns during the care package distribution.
