Strikes, Smiles and Strong Bonds at the SMOU Annual Bowling Challenge 2026

The 19th SMOU Annual Bowling Challenge rolled into action on 22 August 2026 at Orchid Bowl @ Orchid Country Club, bringing together 128 participants for a day filled with friendly competition, camaraderie, and fun.

Guest-of-Honour Mr Chin Yi Zhuan, Deputy Chief Executive (Industry & Corporate), Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), opened the event by highlighting the importance of networking and fostering strong industry relationships within Singapore’s maritime community. He also thanked SMOU and its industry partners for their continued collaboration before officiating the event with a ceremonial roll-off.

As teams took to their lanes, the bowling alley quickly came alive with cheers, high-fives and applause, creating a vibrant and lively atmosphere throughout the competition. Beyond the friendly competition, the event also offered a valuable opportunity for members, families and tripartite partners to reconnect and strengthen bonds in a relaxed setting.

Adding to the fun, a fringe activity was organised, giving participants who had completed their games another chance to fun bowl and walk away with prizes.

The prize presentation segment was met with plenty of excitement as members cheered one another on and celebrated each other’s achievements. From lucky draw winners to the day’s top bowlers, the atmosphere was filled with applause, laughter and camaraderie, reflecting the strong bonds shared within the community.

With trophies awarded, prizes collected, and memories made, participants left with stronger friendships and lasting memories. We look forward to welcoming everyone back next year for another round of strikes, smiles, and camaraderie at the SMOU Bowling Challenge.
