Anticipation reached new heights as SMOU members and their families gathered for an unforgettable celebration of Singapore’s birthday. On 27 July 2024, Marina Barrage transformed into a vibrant sea of red and white as nearly 600 SMOU members and their loved ones joined the SMOU Family Connection event.
From the moment the event commenced, Marina Barrage buzzed with excitement. Members arrived dressed in their finest national colours, and the atmosphere was charged with festive spirit. The day was filled with fun activities and treats, including nasi lemak, durians, sizzling kebabs, candy floss, ice cream popcorn, and desserts. The claw machines attracted eager participants, while roving balloon sculptors and glitter tattoo stations added a whimsical touch for the children.
As the sun set, the event concluded with a rooftop garden segment where attendees witnessed the state flag flypast and F-16 fighter jets performing a bomb-burst manoeuvre. The grand finale featured a stunning fireworks display against the Singapore skyline.
This gathering not only provided an opportunity for members and their families to engage in community activities but also embodied the spirit of unity, bringing everyone together “As One United People.”
