They made it! We’re referring to 218 SMOU members, who were honoured for their long years of membership with the union. On 18 November 2024, SMOU celebrated the resilience and dedication of our members at the Long Membership Awards Presentation 2024. The event saw the attendance of 132 members and their spouses. Awards were presented to those who had achieved 10 to 50 years of membership. 

Among the long membership awardees, Brother Darren Teo, who is one of our younger members and a proud TMTA 8 graduate, was recognised for his dedication to continuing in the seafaring legacy with passion and commitment. Brother Daryl Tan and Brother Samad Kamis were also acknowledged for their outstanding dedication to the Union, both receiving 45 years of membership awards.
