Level Up Your LinkedIn Workshop
From building a stronger personal brand to expanding their professional networks, 16 Young SMOU (YSMOU) members gathered on 6 August 2025 at NTUC Trade Union House for the YSMOU Profile Building Series Workshop – Level Up Your LinkedIn, an interactive session to boost their professional branding and online presence.
The evening began with a networking dinner, giving participants the opportunity to connect in a relaxed atmosphere before diving into the learning session.
The LinkedIn workshop was facilitated by NTUC Learning Hub’s trainer Santhanaram Jayaram (Ram), with a practical, hands-on approach. The youth kicked-off by connecting with one another on LinkedIn, followed by a lively icebreaker. They discussed how LinkedIn supports personal branding, industry insights, networking and career growth.
Trainer Ram shared strategies for creating engaging posts and encouraged everyone to try different content styles to spark conversations on the platform. A creative jigsaw puzzle activity brought out teamwork and self-awareness, helping participants understand how their personality could influence their first LinkedIn post.
The youth also learned how to align their resumes with their LinkedIn profiles, focusing on key sections like summaries, competencies, achievements, and education. AI tools were showcased to support profile optimisation and content creation. The session concluded with tips on crafting a standout profile, as well as strategies for job searching and expanding professional networks through LinkedIn.
By the end of the workshop, the youth left with practical tools, fresh inspiration, and a stronger sense of how to present themselves confidently in the digital professional space.
