Some 60 Cadets from across Asia participated in the recent CadetsPlus Programme conducted by Wavelink Maritime Institute (WMI) from 25 July to 5 August 2022.
The programme was delivered online through a virtual classroom platform covering modules encompassing Confident Conversation in English & Personal Effectiveness, Maritime Occupational Safety, Health & Environmental Protection and Maritime Legislative Requirements.
The 60 cadets who were nominated respectively by the 14 participating shipping employers, were from 6 Countries – India, Sri Lanka, China, Philippines, Taiwan and Myanmar.
The 2-week programme was delivered by WMI Lecturers Muhammad Hisham Bin Amir and Mustaffa Bin Muhamat Bakri, who both shared on their professional knowledge and previous experiences at sea.
At the conclusion of the programme, the cadets shared their enthusiasm towards their upcoming shipboard experience as one of the early milestones towards a fulfilling seafaring career.
