As essential workers, seafarers play a critical role in keeping the seaborne trade constantly moving, but the COVID-19 pandemic has severely disrupted crew change operations for the maritime industry.

Singapore has been one of the most responsive nations at the forefront, facilitating crew changes during this pandemic and publishing the Singapore Crew Change Guidebook with the necessary protocols to facilitate crew changes and repatriation of seafarers.

To help the industry and working professionals facilitating crew changes better understand the procedures of performing crew changes in Singapore, Wavelink Maritime Institute (WMI) hosted a training webinar on 27 October. This is part of WMI’s mission to value-add and to serve the training needs of the maritime industry.
