On 23rd September 2021, SMOU organised a financial planning workshop for members so that they can make better-informed decisions for their future. Close to 50 members attended the workshop, which took place virtually via the Zoom platform.
With over 20 years of financial expertise, Master Trainer at MoneyOwl Ms Felicia Yeo started the session with an introduction to MoneyOwl and proceeded to share on the CPF schemes thereafter. She highlighted the 3 “must-haves” in retirement—that being a fully paid home, medical insurance, and income streams. Ms Felicia also indicated the role that CPF plays, explained how CPF interest rates work, and how to optimise one’s CPF.
She closed the workshop by sharing with members MoneyOwl’s Comprehensive Financial Planning, explaining the importance of knowing one’s insurance plans and needs. This will help the individual make informed decisions pertaining to what is available for them to attain their financial goals. Ms Felicia also answered some of the member’s questions that were put out during the session.
