A refreshing island escape, quality family time and plenty of laughter converged as 67 SMOU members and their loved ones set off on a three-day school holiday getaway to Bintan.
The June School Holiday Trip from 12 to 14 June 2026 offered a welcome opportunity to unwind, reconnect and create lasting memories. From scenic sights and local flavours to lively evening entertainment, the trip brought families together in a relaxed, enjoyable setting.
The first stop was Tanjung Pinang Traditional Market, where participants got a glimpse of local life and explored the bustling surroundings. After lunch, the group visited the Blue Lake and Sand Dunes, where the unique landscape made it a great spot for photos and shared family moments.
In the evening, SMOU welcomed the members and families with a welcome dinner at the hotel. A traditional welcome dance performance opened the evening followed by games, live band and a lucky draw, giving everyone a chance to unwind and have fun.
Day Two was free and easy, allowing families to enjoy the hotel’s facilities or simply spend time together at their own pace. As night fell, everyone regrouped for dinner before heading out for a firefly tour. The quiet surroundings and glowing lights from the fireflies created a calm and memorable experience for both children and adults.
After three days of activities, laughter and rest, the group made their way back to Singapore with many happy memories.
The SMOU June School Holiday Trip was a chance for members and their families to reconnect, relax and enjoy time together, away from the demands of everyday life.
