Over 150 excited SMOU members gathered bright and early on the morning of 4 January 2020, hopped on a ferry, and headed for a 1-day shopping trip to Batam.               

A stop at the iconic, Hollywood look-alike, “Welcome to Batam” monument had to be done, where everyone snapped pictures with the sign to be kept as memorabilia. It wasn’t long before the group hit the factory outlets and malls where the real reason for the trip began. At the end of the trip, like soldiers returning from a victorious battle, many were spotted lugging their shopping loot with smiles on their faces, showing that it was a trip well spent!
