Who makes the decision for you when you can’t?
To help SMOU members understand the benefit of a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA), SMOU organised the third session of the LPA workshop, and this round was an e-workshop on 15 August for some 20 members. Facilitated by legal advisors from Gurbani & Co., members learned what an LPA is about, the benefits of making one, and the steps to go about appointing a trusted and competent person to act on their behalf should the loss of mental capacity occur.
During the Q&A segment, the legal advisors provided members with the opportunity to consult them. Members who attended the talk also had their LPAs executed and endorsed by the legal advisors—a one-stop service for the convenience of our members.
“This is my first time attending the LPA e-workshop. My wife, Annie, and I found the session informative. Materials presented by the legal advisors were succinct and delivered at a good pace. It was indeed a time well spent on learning what LPA is all about. Thank you SMOU for organising this e-workshop.”
– SMOU member of 16 years, Mr Poon Poh Onn John
“The LPA e-workshop was very engaging, insightful and well organised by the SMOU team. At the end of the session, I have a better understanding on the purpose of LPA and the benefits of executing one to ensure the well-being of my family. I particularly enjoyed the Q&A session where we had the opportunity to speak and ask questions.”
– SMOU member of 11 years, Mr Harminder Singh
